Franklin W. Maddux, MD, FACP, EVP for Clinical & Scientific Affairs, CMO of Fresenius Medical Care, Founder
Frank Maddux has contributed extensive medical, business and entrepreneurial experience to the company as its founder. He currently provides leadership for Fresenius Medical Care North America as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Maddux earned an MD degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and now is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. For eighteen years, he was a staff nephrologist at Danville Urologic Clinic, where he also served as President. In addition, he has served on numerous boards and committees involved in developing technology initiatives in both the medical and regional economic development arenas.
Dana Hensley, FACHE, President
Dana Hensley brings more than 25 years of health systems management and health information technology experience to Health IT Services Group. Prior to joining the company, he served as Vice President, Clinical Solutions for McKesson Provider Technologies. Dana was one of the founding managers of IntelliTx Technologies, a clinical information technology and software company affiliated with Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dana previously served as President of the Birmingham Division, Baptist Health System (Alabama), which consists of three hospitals, an MSO, nursing homes, an HMO, a home health agency, and a joint ventured dialysis partnership. Dana has served on numerous boards, including Chairman of the Alabama Hospital Association and is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives. Dana earned a master’s degree from Vanderbilt and a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Washington University School of Medicine.
R. Edwin Hedrick, Vice President – Product Development
With 30 years of information systems experience in various environments and a background in healthcare, Eddie Hedrick is uniquely qualified to lead Health IT Services Group into new areas of product development, carving out a specialized niche in healthcare IT. Eddie previously held the position of Director of Information Systems at Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute. His expertise includes management skills for information systems, network administration, systems analysis and software development, systems installation and maintenance, and training.
Terry L. Ketchersid, MD, Vice President and Medical Officer
Terry Ketchersid is a board-certified nephrologist with 15 years of clinical experience spanning the breadth of adult nephrology in multiple geographic and hospital settings. In his role at Health IT Services Group, Terry provides guidance to physicians as they adopt technology into their clinical workflow and directs product development of the electronic health record. Terry earned an MD degree from the University of Texas Southwestern and an MBA with a Health Sector Management Certificate from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Hugh Gaston — Director of Client Services
With experience in technology and healthcare, Hugh Gaston has led both large- and small-scale implementations across hospitals, clinics and medical practices. At Health IT Services Group, Hugh and his team provide unrivaled customer service, from implementation to support to ongoing client success. Hugh previously led Client Services and Project Management at Informatics Corporation of America, providing enterprise, point-of-care software to regional Health Information Exchanges. He also worked as a consultant at LBMC Healthcare Group and Anderson Consulting and as an engineer at Procter & Gamble.
Jason Holcomb — Director of Business Development
Jason Holcomb has over 15 years of biotechnology and health information technology experience as well as an extensive background in sales. In previous positions at McKesson Provider Technologies, Misys and BioRad, Jason managed corporate accounts and worked with new product launches and conceptual products and services. His unique combination of skills and experience make him a highly knowledgeable and savvy member of the Health IT Services Group leadership team.
Daniel J. Gundzik, CPA – Finance Manager
Dan Gundzik brings a wide range of accounting, finance and healthcare experience to his position at Health IT Services Group. Dan previously held the position of Division Financial Manager for a large for-profit hospital chain and also has experience in the nursing home industry. His expertise includes audit, financial analysis, accounts receivable, vendor and customer negotiations, and budgeting.
